Job Overview

Paint, maintain, and repair all corridors, rooms, and public areas in accordance with all maintenance procedures/ standards and safety & security rules and regulations to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Paint, maintain, and repair all painted, stained, and varnished surfaces throughout the hotel

  • Prepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools, including measuring surfaces, applying spackle and plaster, mixing pain, using brushes, and rollers

  • Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces including wallpaper and fabric wall coverings

  • Maintain and repair grouted, wood, and masonry surfaces requiring staining, varnishing, and lacquering

  • Notify management of any repairs needed (lighting, public areas, parking lot, etc.)

  • Attend safety meetings & other related meetings.

  • Respond to guest requests and questions and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

No formal education needed.

Experience

Prior janitorial/ custodial/ painting experience desirable.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.

  • Ability to meet standards of appearance.

  • Can communicate well with guests.

  • Ability to respond requests and questions.

  • Ability to assess required reaction to meet standards.

  • Minimal speech communication skills to utilize alternate communication.

  • Minimal literacy necessary; can utilize alternate training tools.

Physical Demands

  • Continuously standing and/or walking to accomplish all that is required for position.

  • Climbing stairs -approximately 40 steps 20% of 40 hour week.

  • Must be able to lift/ carry 50lbs throughout entire shift.

  • No driving required.

Inside 90% of working shift. Prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and heavy lifting.
