As a representative for our company, you will as the Receiver accurately check/inspect all foods, supplies and equipment delivered to the receiving areas according to established department receiving guidelines moving goods to appropriate storage areas in a safe, orderly and timely manner. You will also hold responsibility for contacting vendors and department heads when product does not come in as ordered or at substandard quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Rotates stock using FIFO guidelines and maintains all storage areas including refrigerators and freezers in a neat, orderly and sanitary manner

  • Prepares and transports goods to food production and service areas as requisitioned and will stock shelves.

  • Keeps all receiving areas, storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers, and delivery vehicles clean, organized and sanitary;

  • Completes general cleaning duties such as floor care, and minor equipment maintenance as needed

  • Adheres to industry accepted safe food handling guidelines, ensures received and stored goods are safe and secure from loss and maintains a safe work area following generally accepted Workplace safety rules.

  • Conducts bi-weekly and monthly physical inventory.

*Must have demonstrated basic math skills including food service weights and measures and be able to read and understand receiving lists, packaging labels and vendor invoices.

The stocker is responsible for receiving all food and beverage product and putting them away in a safe and efficient manner. In addition stockers are responsible for rotating product, stocking shelves, fulfilling food and beverage requisitions and maintaining the cleanliness of store rooms, coolers, loading dock and garbage rooms

Abilities

Bending/kneeling - repeated bending and kneeling required while stocking, Mobility - must be able to reach all areas of restaurant to assist clients. Occasional standing. Occasional carrying and lifting of supplies up to 50 lbs.

Education/Formal Training

High school diploma or vocational secretarial.

Experience

Previous stocking experience preferred.
