Must have:

  • Proven track record as a Director of Sales and Marketing, preferably with Marriott and CITY experience

  • Experienced leader who can effectively manage a team to ensure action plans and goals are attained

  • Can deploy and mentor the sales and catering team to generate budgeted revenue targets and uncover new business in a highly competitive market

  • Execute strategies and tactics that result in achievement of budgeted revenue, profit goals, expense management and consistent RevPAR and ADR growth

  • Technical skills as it relates to sales system management, weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting, goal setting and incentive calculations

  • Builds relationships and enhances lead generation from GSO network and within brand channels

  • Ability to leverage relationship with hotel owners in order to gather support for strategic business plans. Proven success in owners meetings and budget presentations

  • Oversees and implements effective branding, marketing, social media and public relations initiatives

  • Works with agencies to drive revenue through digital marketing process including website development and ad campaigns

  • Develops creative programming and activations

  • Involved in the community and develops mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships

Posting Overview:

The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for all aspects of sales, analyzing and achieving strategic objectives and business growth goals. Demonstrates excellent leadership and communication skills with associates, guests and owners. Directs sales associates, builds sales budgets and marketing/business plans, while ensuring the hotel is protected and inventory controls are in place. Ensures all operations are in alignment with the vision of the General Manager, Company and brand standards. Delivers quality service, achieves financial goals and implements short and long term strategies.

Knowledge/Skills

­3-5 years of hotel sales management experience

Requires knowledge of general sales techniques, yield management, and customer service skills.

Ability to Travel and multi-task

Vision to read fine print and computer screens, to see colors, to observe rooms in poorly lit conditions

Understand and follow verbal/written instructions

Develop strong internal and customer relations

Abilities

Must have dexterity/mobility to meet clients on and off premises, to tour property and attend functions, to climb stairs, and operate basic office equipment.

Must have own reliable transportation and posses a valid state driver's license in order to make sales calls.

Education/Formal Training

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

4+ years of hotel sales management experience
