Job Overview

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Vice President of Talent Acquisition is responsible for the oversight and direction of the full life cycle of the recruiting process for the organization in partnership and alignment with the Talent Management Strategies and our Leadership Brand for Sage Hospitality Group. Optimizing Sage’s ability to always attract and retain the best talent in the market and support the organization’s efforts to have a leadership brand that differentiates us from our competitors.

The VP of Talent Acquisition is responsible for participating in talent acquisition and management strategies for project specific work and for the execution and management of talent acquisition strategies for recruitment solutions at the corporate office and our customers in the field.This is a hands-on role that will establish goals and objectives and define methodologies for the functions as described.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement systems, process and strategies to support our Leadership Brand and success of recruiting and talent goals to include but not limited to: pre-planning; scope definition; overall strategy; resource plans; financial plans; risk plans; quality plans; timelines; communication plans; launch objectives; tasks lists; project phases

  • Recruit for Executive Committee positions at our luxury hotels, restaurants and corporate office.

  • Identify system/process enhancements necessary to better align recruiting solutions with the organization business goals, including prioritizing those enhancements needed to meet project deadlines and budgets.

  • Develop and implement programs such as University recruiting, social media marketing, organizational partnerships, systems, advertising, recruitment campaigns, career fairs, and other online initiatives.

  • Ensure effective strategies for filling job vacancies in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

  • Build and maintain client relationships and partnerships that lead to increased customer satisfaction and increased revenues.

  • Ensure that all recruiting programs and projects are designed to win and support the execution of recruiting strategies with customers to deliver success at the highest levels of satisfaction.

  • Holding self and team accountable to high customer service satisfaction.

  • Ensure a high level of communication between recruiters, corporate team members and hiring managers in the field that occurs in a proper, consistent and proactive manner.

  • Expand Internet and Digital Strategies to leverage our ability to meet goals and needs.

  • Develop statistical metrics and ensure they are properly designed, maintained, and presented to the internal and external stakeholders on a regular and consistent basis.

  • Oversee resource allocation, timing and staffing for all recruiting efforts and projects.

  • Accountable for building and maintaining a high performing experienced recruiting team focused on customer's deliverables and retaining and attracting the best talent.

  • Responsible for supporting the mentoring, coaching and development of team, recognizing strengths and weaknesses, and developing our future leaders,

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Maintain content of communication vehicles to include dashboard reports and Talent Newsletter.

  • Conduct daily, weekly huddles with recruiting team to review open searches and discuss proactive recruiting tactics.

  • Ensure the creation of job postings, job descriptions and job requirements that are current with organizational needs and compliant with all legal requirements.

  • Proactively infuse the team with Sage’s You Belong culture to promote a positive work environment and position the organization as the “preferred employer.”

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and hiring functions. Ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

  • Handle elevated customer concerns. Research and investigate in a fair and non-judgmental manner to discover facts, identify potential liability to the company, advises management in appropriate resolution and facilitates resolution.

  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in task forces and committees as requested.

  • Travel is required occasionally for recruitment, training, and task force purposes.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

  • ­Oversee team of 1-5 associates

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or business, or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 10+ years of Director-level or above recruiting leadership experience in a corporate or professional staffing services environment.

  • Hospitality experience preferred.

  • Matrix management experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Broad familiarity with assessment-related regulatory (e.g., EEOC, OFCCP, etc.) and legal requirements and considerations.

  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability building data-driven strategies, translating data into programmatic action.

  • Clear understanding of best-in-class Talent Acquisition strategies including workforce planning, people analytics and process improvement.

  • Must have demonstrated active listening skills and proven performance management/situational leadership skills in managing developing direct reports of various levels (management to individual contributors of varying levels)

  • Ability to conceptualize and develop new operational and/or service delivery ideas.

  • Proven ability to maintain a focus on strategic goals and understand the big picture, while also having the ability to deep dive into the details of the position to have a complete understanding of issues, opportunities, and risks.

  • Must be extremely confidential and able to manage sensitive and confidential situations tactfully.

  • Possess the ability to work under pressure and have the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
