Job Overview

The Social Media Manager serves as the day-to-day support and social media expert for a variety of hospitality brands within the Sage Hospitality Group. This role will work closely with the Director of Social Media to oversee and coach social media champions on current trends and best practices for all social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and others as the need arises. They will also assist with admin duties related to social media tools like Sprout Social, Last Pass, Meta Manager and Meta Ads. The ideal candidate is a strong writer who can adapt to different brand voices and demonstrates enthusiasm and passion for all facets of social media. Someone who can work with designated properties to support online and offline content initiatives that remain true to brand identity.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a central hub overseeing and supporting social media planning and activities for select Sage properties, ensuring brand integrity (voice, tone, personality, etc.), asset quality and effectiveness of content strategy

  • Work with property teams and Director of Social Media to develop content strategies for the overall portfolio and individual properties that map back to larger marketing goals and brand storytelling initiatives, leading to increased awareness, guest and follower engagement, channel growth, guest acquisition, referrals and traffic.

  • As needed, assist with high-quality visual and written content creation across these channels, uncover opportunities for ongoing engagement with key influencers to drive brand awareness and manage the process for discovering and receiving permissions to repost UGC from our guests

  • In partnership with the Director of Social Media and larger marketing team to support the development of multi-channel digital campaigns for various audiences, including paid social media efforts to amplify and increase ROI across digital channels; work with properties to leverage budget to support their organic social media content.

  • Ensure consistency of storytelling and brand messaging across all social channels, as well as consistency of tagging and tracking across all social content (organic and paid) and outbound links

  • Oversee select social media channels for proper adherence to Sage Social Media standards across all sectors of strategy including content selection, community engagement, voice, tone, etc.

  • Work with Director of Social Media to benchmark, measure, track and analyze the performance of property social channels, content and campaigns/digital marketing initiatives. Use this reporting to drive improved content, social media initiatives and decisions. Ensure insights and learnings lead to measurable actions.

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in social media and measurement. Work with Director of Social Media to communicate trends to property teams and optimize strategy to incorporate those trends.

  • Set ambitious growth and engagement goals on all platforms and hold properties accountable to those goals.

  • Work with Director of Social Media to develop processes and procedures to ensure effective planning and utilization of time and resources; train Social Media Champions on these SOPs and monitor for results

  • Work with Director of Social Media, marketing team members, and properties to define their social media tone of voice and content priorities to ensure alignment with brand identity and property positioning.

  • Act as administrator of social media platforms and manage property access to social channels, including Facebook Business Manager, Sprout Social.

  • Work with Directors of Social Media and PR to advise and collaborate on influencer strategies

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

A four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.

Experience

Required to have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a marketing position. Hospitality experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent comprehension and literacy required to read letters, help prepare contracts and proposals

  • Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

  • Professional appearance and manner

  • Computer literacy, specifically MS Word for Windows

  • Experience working with hospitality and/or lifestyle brands is preferred.
