FOCUS

The Social Media Director (SMD) assists with the development, implementation, and management of online marketing programs, social media, blogs, SEO, content, and related programs. Coordinates with outside digital agencies and property staff to ensure all program objectives are achieved and revenue is maximized. The ideal candidate demonstrates enthusiasm and passion for all areas of marketing. Works with selected restaurants and bars to create branded and unique identities with forward-looking positioning, supported with online and offline content and initiatives that develop the restaurants identity.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The SMD will administer the company’s social media marketing and social advertising.

  • Administration includes:

  • Deliberate planning & goal setting

  • Development of brand awareness & online reputation

  • Content creation & management

  • Coordination with SEO and generation of inbound traffic

  • Cultivation of leads & sales

The SMD is a highly-motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for connecting with current and future consumers. A vital component is communicating the company’s brands in a positive, authentic way that will attract consumers.

Content management includes:

  • Direct the creation relevant, original, high-quality content. Create, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily (text, photos, videos, news, etc.)

  • Leverage the right tools to manage content

  • Implement a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns

  • Promote content through social advertising

  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences

  • Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals

  • Set specific objectives and report on ROI

  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics

  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure brand consistency

  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor guest reviews

  • Oversee social media accounts’ design (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, timeline cover, profile pictures, layout, etc.)

  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness

  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications

  • Be present on social platforms daily, engaging the community, answering product questions, and participating in of-the-moment trends when applicable

  • Identify and grow relationships with a network of brand-building social influencers, including outreach, communication, and managing/setting up shoots

  • Cover brand events/happenings for social (take photos/videos, conduct interviews, travel when necessary)

  • Use analytics tools to deliver monthly reports on growth/engagement to VP of Marketing & Corporate Director of Marketing

  • Coordinate monthly blogs for website updating and company newsletter

  • Administrate and support CRM activities (planning and delivering of CRM across the company encouraging guest retention and guest loyalty) ensuring the database is segmented effectively for targeted marketing activities

  • Monitor online reputation management via online management tools, flagging both positive and negative reviews for store level managers to manage

  • Monitor and establish online listings within our brand portfolio

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven work experience as a Social Media Director

  • Hands on experience in content management

  • Excellent copywriting skills

  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image & video)

  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics

  • Knowledge of online marketing channels

  • Familiarity with web design and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Ability to photograph and edit food and drink photos

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Analytical and multi-tasking skills

Education/Formal Training

Bachelor's degree in marketing or computer science, or equivalent experience preferred

Experience

Required to have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a marketing position. Hospitality experience preferred.
