Job responsibilities for the Director of Real Estate Accounting & Reporting will include, but are not limited to:
Manage cash disbursement and capital call funding activities for the various entities. Work collaboratively with New Business Development to ensure accurate forecasting of cash needs and due diligence expenses
Coordinate Closing activities for capital transactions to ensure timely closing, funding and communication with investment partners. Record transaction accounting (i.e. settlement sheets for financing, acquisition, asset sale) activities
Direct the formation, management and dissolution of legal entities for both the Investment Company and Operating Company
Assist with special projects including the preparation and maintenance of the Five Year Plan, preparation and/or review of Offering Memoranda and models for future partnership entities, etc.
Supervise one or more senior accounting professionals and one legal assistant
Standardize and document processes and procedures to ensure consistency across investments
Oversee preparation of tax documents
Ability to function successfully in peak workload periods and remain organized, keeping external and internal teams informed

The Director of Real Estate Accounting & Reporting will report to the Chief Investment Officer and will manage all aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and financial reporting processes for the Company’s hotel investment and upper tier partnership entities.
Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes and investment reporting packages including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts for the Company’s real estate investment funds, real estate investment entities and special purpose shareholder entities. Ensure that the general ledger and trial balance for each investment entity is reconciled with the Property/Joint Venture and third party source documentation and agreements
Manage the Company’s relationship(s) with outside tax advisors in order to ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax planning forecasts, annual income tax returns and K-1s. Effectively coordinate with investment partners on routine tax related matters
Confirm monthly, quarterly and annual debt compliance and lender reporting for the investment hotels and partnerships
Manage member capital accounts for each investment including allocations of management incentive interests. Ensure waterfall calculations are in accordance with joint venture level operating agreements. Provide periodic investment valuations to Class A, B and C members.
Manage the equity subscription and grant process for each investment

Bachelor's Degree in in Accounting. Active CPA strongly preferred.
A minimum of seven (7) to nine (9) years of progressive experience in real estate partnership accounting.
Prolonged sitting throughout entire shift at computerized workstation in office environment.
