We’re seeking an experienced Human Resources leader that embraces and magnifies the unique and funky. With 336 pop-culture-powered rooms and suites, 30,000 sq feet of meeting space, a Starbucks, and the restaurant, this role will support a complex environment and a team of 200 of our amazing associates.
Reporting directly to both GMs (the hotel and the restaurant) and with a dotted line to the Regional HR Director, this position will be a unique combination of the hands-on and strategic. You’ll be in one meeting reviewing budgets, consulting with your executive committee members on long term recruiting & retention plans and creating leadership development strategies. Then the next thing you know, you’re verifying the accuracy of the decentralized payroll and following up on an employee relations questions.

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the short and long term planning and management of the Human Resources functions. Acts as a strategic advisor to management on all people related matters. Promotes a positive working culture, associate high performance, quality service and empowerment to associates. Leads various functions including; recruitment, on-boarding, associate relations, state and federal compliance, benefits administration, workers compensation and safety.

Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying -approximately 5%. Bending/kneeling -to get files -5% annually. Mobility -40% of 10 hour day is spent around the hotel. Continuous standing -during training and lobby lizard duty. No climbing required. Driving -occasionally to attend hearings and recruitment activities.
Four year college degree or equivalent experience/education preferred.
Four to five years of employment in human resources or related field.
Proven successful implementation of people resource process.
Union experiences a plus. Four year college degree or equivalent/education experience.
