Job Overview

The Area Director of Community Relations & Marketing is a high-profile brand ambassador who will work with a variety of constituency and will focus priorities while juggling multiple tasks and goals. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a sponsorship program and achieving budgeted revenues. Oversight of event development, production and execution for the historic building.

The area director will serve as liaison between local and national associations such as RTD, DDP, DCPA, Lodo District, Visit Denver, DEN, etc. The area director has ultimate responsibility for developing and executing a marketing budget, projecting ROI and tracking performance of all DUS hosted events. Area director is responsible for supporting overarching vision for DUS landmark events.

The area marketing director is responsible for overseeing performance of marketing managers and provide guidance and support to assist associate with professional growth and development.

Position requires excellent organization and communication skills so that daily tasks are successfully completed in an efficient and timely manner. Conducts themselves in a professional, hospitable manner to guests and staff members at all times, representing the brand of Denver Union Station as a key ambassador for the neighborhood, and community.

Responsibilities

  • Sponsorships & Partnerships

  • Sponsorship procurement and fulfillment - develop relationships with potential sponsors to integrate brand aligned opportunities (collateral, displays, etc.).

  • Procure title sponsors and partnerships for Denver Union Station events; Procure property partners for The Crawford Hotel and The Oxford Hotel including package partners and activation sponsors

  • Oversee fulfillment, reporting and ROI to sponsors and partners

  • Find creative solutions for sponsorships within the Denver Union Station brand.

  • Manage and create sponsorship portfolios and deliverables for Denver Union Station.

  • Achieve budgeted revenues for sponsorship opportunities. Strategic Marketing Oversight

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for all marketing initiatives

  • Supervise digital marketing, public relations, social media, advertising, sponsorships and brand storytelling on a high level to ensure all strategies are aligned within the department as well as the entire properties

  • Oversee email marketing campaign strategy and production including transactional, trigger/drip campaigns, and weekly marketing messaging

  • Strategize and proof social media content; provide calendar approval, assist in brainstorming creative content

  • Report and track KPIs for all marketing initiatives to ensure goals are met

  • Responsible for final approvals to ensure all collateral, advertising, digital marketing and promotional efforts are on-brand

  • Oversee all public relations efforts and provide direction to third-party representative; main point of contact for all on-site public relations, including interviews, crisis communications, press release approval, and influencer stays

  • Step-in when necessary to assist PR Rep with crisis or emergency situations Events & Activations

  • Lead the charge in cementing Union Station’s reputation as ‘The Crown Jewel of Denver.’

  • Oversee productivity, creation, marketing, and execution of Denver Union Station events as well as The Crawford Hotel and The Oxford Hotel’s activations

  • Assist Marketing Managers with events and activations, when necessary Administrative

  • Organize and facilitate the donation program through sponsorships and partnerships

  • Develop and manage marketing budgets

  • Represent organizations at various marketing committee meetings as requested by senior staff

  • Conceptualize revenue generating packages and offers for The Crawford Hotel and The Oxford Hotel

Compensation:

$75,000 - $85,000 / Year

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

A four year college degree or equivalent education/experience

Experience

Required to have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in a marketing position. Hospitality experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent comprehension and literacy required to read manager's letters, help prepare contracts and proposals

  • Ability to negotiate effectively

  • Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

  • Professional appearance and manner

  • Computer literacy, specifically MS Word for Windows

  • Communication at all levels; multi-tasking; time management
