Sage Hospitality is set to hire a seasoned Director of Housekeeping who will be the leader of our housekeeping operations at this most exclusive downtown Chicago hotel, the Blackstone Hotel, An Autograph Collection. You will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel housekeeping operations, most importantly leading and developing a team of dynamic individuals and rallying them around a unique service culture that leaves a lasting impression with guests and associates alike. You will contain an entrepreneurial spirit that makes this Marriott Autograph Collection one-of-a-kind brand come to life, all the while making our property shine.

This role will report to the Director of Operations at The Blackstone as well as partnering with a collaborative Executive Committee that takes pride in excellence and is a great steward for the property.

The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the hotel, guest rooms, public areas and other assigned areas. Directs and coordinates all functions of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments and ensures impeccable levels of cleanliness and upkeep. Implements inventory and cost controls and ensures expenses are carefully managed. Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and team building skills with associates, peers and across departments.

Requires thorough knowledge of the Housekeeping field. Requires knowledge of our company/hotel policies and procedures and the ability to determine course of action based on these guidelines. Moderate hearing necessary for one-on-one communication with guests. Excellent vision necessary for constant walkthrough checks, for attention to detail, analyze reports. One to two years of post high school education.
Experience required by position is from two to three full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s). 3-5 years of experience in housekeeping operations preferred. Previous experience in a full service Director of Housekeeping role preferred. Experience working in a union environment preferred.

Primarily housekeeping department environment. May include prolonged strenuous physical activity in indoor climate-controlled environment. Excessive heat and humidity in laundry. Inside 95% of shift.
