Job Overview
The Leisure Sales Manager is the driving force behind attracting travelers to Hotel Alpenrock, Curio Collection by Hilton. This position will cultivate relationships with high-value clients, luxury travel advisors, and specialized tour operators, showcasing the unique allure of the property and the Breckenridge experience. This role demands a proactive sales approach, with a significant focus on direct sales activities and must excel at understanding client needs, crafting tailored proposals that resonate, and skillfully negotiating to close deals. Meeting and exceeding sales targets is essential. This critical role will ensure seamless communication across all departments, contributing to a cohesive and exceptional guest experience within the authentic Breckenridge setting.
Responsibilities
Proactively conduct sales calls targeting luxury travel agencies, and specialized tour operators, both domestically and internationally, with a focus on maximizing revenue potential.
Develop and execute a comprehensive direct sales program aligned with departmental budgets and marketing plans, specifically designed to attract discerning leisure travelers from key markets.
Dedicate a minimum of 50% of work time to direct sales activities and targeted prospecting
Cultivate and maximize existing key accounts within the luxury travel segment, identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for revenue growth.
Consistently achieve a minimum of 90% of established productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, as defined by management, across all targeted markets.
Identify and capture competitor accounts through strategic networking, market research, and analysis of travel trends and destination trends
Secure referrals from existing clientele and promptly follow up on all leads within 24 hours to generate new business.
Develop and implement a dynamic "Targeted Account Development" strategy to leverage ancillary revenue streams and establish valuable relationships with key contacts within domestic and international luxury travel markets.
Continuously prospect for new business through targeted campaigns, creative initiatives, and innovative approaches.
Utilize yield management techniques to strategically negotiate room rates maximizing the hotel's financial performance within the context of fluctuating domestic and international demand and booking windows
Maintain a meticulous and organized file management system to ensure efficient and knowledgeable service for clients.
Build and nurture strong customer relationships through consistent, professional, and ethical communication, catering to the diverse needs of both domestic and international guests.
Develop detailed customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system to anticipate and exceed client expectations, driving repeat business from both domestic and international guests.
Conduct thorough market research, surveys, and competitive analysis to capitalize on the hotel's strengths and identify opportunities within both domestic and international travel markets.
Prioritize revenue-generating activities, dedicating a minimum of 90% of work time to direct sales efforts.
Manage travel expenses responsibly to minimize departmental and hotel costs.
Represent the hotel with the utmost integrity, professionalism, and a service-oriented mindset, fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere for both domestic and international guests.
Cultivate a collaborative team environment, maintaining open communication with all hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences, while also leveraging industry partnerships.
Actively participate in relevant industry trade shows and travel events to promote the hotel and cultivate valuable relationships.
Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Six months minimum in sales, customer service related position or hotel experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
Requires knowledge of general sales techniques. Requires yield management experience.
Requires highly developed customer service skills.
Understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
Requires multi-tasking and the ability to work on more than one task at a time.
Develop strong internal and customer relationships.
