With this opening, we are set to hire an accomplished Director of Engineering who will be an integral leader of this property. The 164 room hotel will feature locally curated art from students, professors and musicians. Music will carry through the building with accents in the interior design, programming, amenities and experiences to reflect the scene in the city. From the vibrant lobby bar to the upscale roof top lounge, local beverages will be served with spirited entertainment. The hotel will offer 3,500 square feet of meeting and event space including patio space with views of Walnut Street. The hotel is part of a mixed-use development in the center of Old Town, Fort Collins, defined as Firehouse Alley, featuring Sage Restaurant Group’s newest concept the Emporium Kitchen and Market.

This role will report to the General Manager of the Elizabeth Hotel and General Manager of Food and Beverage that oversees all food and beverage operations including the Emporium Kitchen and Market.

Your success will be measured by your ability to:

•Successfully create and implement preventive maintenance programs

•Hire, train and develop an engineering team

•Manage multiple projects at a time, completing on time and within budget

The ideal candidate has a proven track record as an engineering leader in a full service environment, has strong project management skills, can work in a strategic or tactical capacities simultaneously, and extensive success as a leader who can effectively provide guidance at all levels within the property.

Posting Overview

The Director of Engineering assists in the safe, efficient maintenance and operation of the hotels physical structure. Demonstrates great leadership skills in managing associates and ensuring the safety of guests. Supervises the implementation of all property and equipment preventive maintenance, repairs, monitor life safety systems and utilities. Ensures compliance with all hotel brand standards, local, state and federal codes and regulations to protect hotel assets. Develops short and long term strategies of the engineering division. Develop the department's budget, capital expenditures and manages expenses within approved budget constraints.

Abilities

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying of weights up to 25 lbs. and occasionally greater, for all hotel equipment and machinery. 50-75% of job function.

Frequent bending and/or kneeling throughout the day for repairs and maintenance of hotel property, equipment and machinery. 50% of job function.

Mobility - throughout the hotel, all floors, varying heights and distances. Use of ladders and lifts required at times. Generally 75-80% of job function.

Continuous standing required in varying degrees throughout the day.

Climbing stairs up to approximately 210 steps 5% of each day.

Driving - limited driving on an occasional basis for supplies, equipment, etc. Generally within 20 miles.

Education/Formal Training

More than two years of post high school education

Experience

Experience required by position is from four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).

Material/Equipment Used

Chemicals/Agents used: Water treatments, cleaning, degreasers, coil cleaners, paint thinners, gasoline.

Protective clothing: Facemask (chemical testing), goggles, rubber gloves, welding shield worn approximately 1%.

Power, hand tools (i.e. circular saw, drill).

Environment

Work inside 95% of week; outside 5% of week. Abnormal temperatures - walk-in freezers - below 32 degrees, 1% of the time.
